There are some pictures in the news section of www.chippingsodburycaravans.co.uk for those interested.

I quite like the graphics, although I'm pretty sure they will not be to all tastes, and it looks like they are fitting the LED pelmet lighting as per Senator 6.

Hi Martin

Thanks for that.

I have to admit the teak wood doesn't look too bad. I still prefer the exterior logos on the series 5.

Cheers

Hi just been onto chipping sodbury site and had a look at the new pageant. i prefer the new grahics. the new wood is not as orangey as i thought it would and i like the look of the new limozin. the fabrics choices look nice to.

value for money you cant go wrong.

but for us it still has to be the wyoming and thats why we have bought one. we get it friday 16th may.

We bought it from jamie and Ian at chipping sodbury. i service i got from them was far better than i got from any other dealer and belive me i did phone alot through out the country.

theres no delivery charge on any new bailey vans bought from chipping sodbury.

also with bailey they have service centres throughout the country that do servicing and warrenty work they just have to be on baileys list. you dont have to go back to where youbought it from.

Hi Jo-anne

Did I read that last post correctly?

You've bought a Wyoming?? After all you said to me earlier in the year.

Now if bailey can make the Senator series 7 with slide out sides as an option??

Good luck.

Cheers

Hi Jo-anne

Another Wyoming from Chipping Sodbury! I thought you bought an Onyx a few months back? Are you not happy with it?

The Wyoming is a great 'van, and I'm sure you will be pleased with it. Likewise, Ian and Jamie at Chipping Sodbury are a delight to deal with. It's the first Bailey I've had from there and it will certainly be my first port of call when the time comes to change again.

Good luck with the new 'van. Hope you got a good price for that Onyx of yours.

Hi Martin, im gonna be honest with everyone. I didnt px the onyx in. I rejected the 2nd onyx and the awning and the dealer took it back and gave me a full refund. They both had serious faults one bring the flooring and the other the shower and various minor faults. they sort of could be repaired but i wasnt prepared for it to be repaired so i rejected it.The awning leaked and had a green stain on the roof.

we wasnt going to get another van but the bailey brochures came through the post and we went and had a look at chipping sodbury and yes we bought the wyoming from jamie and ian.

i really cant grumble.

I think with the onyx's i just got to faulty ones. lots of people have no trouble it must be just me, lol.

so yes the wyoming will be on the back of the silver santa fe. just like you and alan with your silver sorento's.

what awning do you have martin?.

Hi Jo-anne

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the Onyx's. It must have been really painful for you and your family. But welcome to 'Club Wyoming'! On our last trip out, we saw another three on the M5 and I guess we can't all be wrong!!

We have got a Dorema Exclusive as the big awning and a large porch, a Dorema Vitesse, which we use mainly, with the bigger ones for longer trips. You can add annexes to both awnings and we use the same annexes with both awnings. Both the awnings have the fibre tech frame options and look smart and are quite easy to put up.

I really hope you enjoy your new Bailey and that you can put the bad memories behind you. I know that you were not pleased with your previous 'van either.

This is my fifth new Bailey - I have had Swift, Abbey and Coachmans at various times too.

I just think that the Baileys are unbeatable value for money and although we always look around, we seem to always come back to the Baileys.

Enjoy your 'Minger' as ours is called!!!

Hi have just been looking at the pictures of the new Pageant 7 in the new PC magazine. Although they don't give a lot detail view of the interior, I'm still inclined to think they've opted for a retro 70's look. Remember the teak furniture of the 70's with the stainless/aluminium channel door edgings instead of knobs and handles, to give that streamlined look.

We've got a Pageant 6 08 model Burgundy and really like the interior with the lighter wood finish.

The pictures of the fabrics in the Pageant don't really 'float our boat' either.

I must admit we prefer the lighter interiors with a bit of a cosy feeling at night, but we'll reserve full judgement until we see them in the showrooms.

The only real thing we don't like on the Pageant we have is the sound system and we admit that's a minor gripe anyway.

Hi Martin & Jo-anne

On my trip to Buxton the other week I saw 5 Sories and 3 Santa Fe's tugging 2 Swift Conquerors, 4 Senators ( Wyomings and Louisianas,)and 2 Pageant Burgundys. All silver cars bar one.

Just in case you don't know, if you have any problems with your Wyomings just call Chipping Sodbury's Workshop Manager, Tony Voisey. I have dealt with him for a number of years and any issues have always been resolved swiftly and correctly. They have a very busy workshop so you may need to give him a few weeks notice. The quality of customer attention and work is brilliant.

Ah well , off to Cornwall thursday for a few weeks.

Cheers

Dear All,

I've just got back from the official launch of the Pageant Series 7 and now have some supplementary information on the new models. Prices for the new ranges were confirmed. They will be held at the same price as outgoing Series 6 models until September 1st. The all-new Limousin will cost

Crikey Nigel

Where does that leave me with my s6 Senator Wyoming???

What's Bailey's thoughts on the apparent closeness of the Pageant and Seantor twin axles????

Cheers

Hi Alan,

This is a classic problem. By pushing Pageant upmarket, it has made Senator look a little less special.

The Senator and Pageant are much more similar in specification than before, but they do look a lot different, particularly inside. With the dark wood interior, I think Bailey are anticipating that the two vans will attract different buyers.

It won't devalue your van as second-hand caravan prices are incredibly robust, particularly in popular layouts like your Wyoming. And there will be plenty of people who simply won't like the Pageant's new look, and will prefer the more traditional Senator anyway.

Hope this helps

We looked at the Pageant Series 7 yesterday at Chipping Sodbury Caravans. On paper, the prices and the fact that they are fitted with the latest Alko stability control etc make them look good value. As others have commented, we wondered how the Pageant and Seanator would be 'differentiated'. (We have a Jul 06 Senator Oklahoma S5). I would have to agree with Nigel that the dark wood in the S7, which IMHO is quite MFI'ish in terms of appearance and finish, would not be to every bodies taste. Generally, one can see where the price/value difference between the Pageant and Senator lies in terms of quality of materials, features and fittings.

Over the years to my knowledge this has happened twice before were Bailey have increased the spec of the Pageant and brought it close to the Senator.

On both occassions within a short time a new upmarket Senator appeared. I suspect this will happen again.

Hi

I see the Pageant 7 brochure is now available online - can't wait to see it in the flesh - why do manufacturers only show pictures of the fixed double bed models!! Not a single pic of the new Bretagne (how are you supposed to pronounce that - I think I'm going to buy one so I'll need to learn how to say it!)

With 3 kids 9, 6 and 3 we'd decided last year on a 5 berth Abbey 517 , wife and I both liked the finish and I really thought all the Swift group offerings were better coordinated and finished. Dare I say it Baileys did seem a little dated and poorly finished by comparison - maybe it was just cosmetics although the excess window sealant oozing from a Bailey van at the NEC didn't impress, nor the salesman flippant comment that at least it proved they'd used sealant and that maybe other manufacturers didn't!

Anyway - a Swift Group Abbey it was going to be until we looked into the Senator Carolina! All plans out the window (oozing sealant notwithstanding!) Kids over the moon "this one! this one! I want this bunk! I want that bunk!

E mail to Swift revealed 'no' they had no plans to copy the layout, so it would have to be a Bailey - then a check of the Senator weights revealed a problem - our Grand Voyager, while weighing some 2200kg has a manufacturer imposed 1600kg towing limit - about 150kg to low, so since then we've been dithering over whether we could accept the new but smaller Ranger 540/6. The Pageant Series 7 may be the answer to our prayers - triple bunk cabin and playroom for the kids and maybe the missing 'wow' factor that attracted us to the Swift group. We did have a separate shower on our list of reqirements, but we're coming round to accepting doing without - kids reaction to the layout just irresistable!

I just hope it hasn't got aluminium framed windows!

Big savings to be made now I hear, now that the new ones are hitting the dealers sites. Do you prefer or need, the narrower bodied S6? Now may be ideal time to save a bob or two.

i think that bailey are always one step ahead of any other manu. They keep there weights down and dont skimp on anything. they are great value for money more affordable than any other manu's fleet and i think there customer service is second to none as Alan has stated on previous posts.

did you know that if you buy a new bailey from chipping sodbury caravans you dont pay a delivery charge.

Just had a look at the new Pageant Series 7 Burgundy at Dickinson's in Bradford - and was underwhelmed. It's nice and wide, and I like the upholstery, but the wood effect for the cupboard doors is very reminiscent of the 1970's teak effect contiboard - awful!!! Anyone else seen one?

Hi Val

Inclined to agree with you on the teak effect. We do like the pale 'light oak' effect and had narrowed the choice for our first van down to an Abbey pretty much for that reason (once layout had been decided) That is a luxury perhaps afforded to Swift Group in that they are able to offer similar layouts under different brand names, each able to offer variations on textures and colours.

Now that we're leaning toward a Bailey due to the triple bunk arrangement we no longer have the option of an alternate finish.

Incidentally - I'm fairly new to the forum and have noticed there is another Martin - apologies if any confusion created! I've also discovered I can change my name - so you will see I am from Chester!

apologies if this post pops up twice - lost the signal as I hit 'submit' and had to write it all again!!!
