new Baily Olympus

On page 6 of the Boat & Caravan Show leaflet with this months Caravan & Camping Club magazine it refers to a new Baily Olympus range being shown at the show. It has the same Alu-Tech construction as the Pegasus. Any one know if this is the replacement for the Senator ?

On page 7 of the leaflet is a photo of a Roma Caravan. It has large double opening patio doors and almost full length double window at the side front and back. It says the double door allow disabled access but is the caravan also suitable to able bodied people ?

Michael, I cannot hep regding the Bailey, but as far as the Roma goes it is very suitable for able bodied people.

There is a downside at the moment though.

At present, Roma vans are 8ft wide, therefore are unable to be towed in the UK unless you have a vehicle with a GVW of 3501kg or more, which rules out all the "normal" cars,4x4's and light vans and puts you into the Commercial Vehicle category, with the necessary extra licence requirements.

Roma are very aware that they are missing an important market, and sre getting 2.3mtr chassis in this year , so until they become more available it iessential to check size if interested in them.

It is also, sadly, common for Roma vans to be refused access to many commercial sites in the same way as Hobby, Fendt and Tabbert, and even when the narrower versions become available, it will take time for site owners to relax their stance on the make.

Given that Roma literally means 'gypsy' I suspect it will take a while for them to become accepted!
