New BMW 5 Series driven

Nice car, but can anyone enlighten me as to how "automatic overtaking works". Is it only on M ways, or say on the A459/Fosse would it watch out for side roads left and right, or farm entrances, dips in the road, visibility obstructions such as low overhanging trees? I am intrigued.

A quick google brings this up:

Not as 'automatic' as it seems. The driver decides to overtake, turns the indicator on, hands off steering wheel, off it goes. A headline grabber.

Amazes me how people actually think a certain brand of car gives them a certain status, when in reality ,most up market cars are not out of reach of the average person.Just depends how sensible or daft the said person is.I prefare to put my money into property.
