I have booked my car in for a tow bar and gone for the coding. The main point the fitters suggest is that if the car is fitted with stop start technology which it is then without this coding it puts the engine under severe pressure and can cause problems. They do suggest that on Fords without it the warranty will be invalidated although i am not sure about that.
