We are looking for a new car to tow our Sterling Elite which has a mptlm of 1650 kg. My other hobby is windsurfing so I need plenty of room inside the car for my boards and sails. We do a fair bit of solo driving so the vehicle has to be decent to drive while not towing; some 4X4's are reputed to be pretty awful when not towing. Any help would be appreciated.

what about the passat estate eithier 4motion/170 or3.2v6 all have good towing capabilities,the v6 is reputed to tow 2.0tonne yet is still only a big estate car and when you havent got the van they give any boy racer a smart set of rubbers!
