New Caravan... Not happening

With the car all packed and ready to set off in the morning to collect our brand new caravan, we got a phone call from the dealer to say whilst prepping the van they have found a production fault (screw through the roof) so we have rejected this van. We would like to commend the dealer (Kimberley Caravans) for their attention to detail and prompt action to inform us. The manufacture has diverted a new van to replace ours. What comes out of this, quality control needs to be improved, less haste more speed. There are no winners really, our holiday delayed, the dealer incurs costs in prepping two new vans, the manufacturer has to rework a new van... all because the wrong screw was used, or an over zealous production worker more interested in bonus than quality. The dealer and the manufacture have accepted responsibility and appear to be making every effort to put things right.

I have long held the view that, on occasion, things will go wrong, as in this instance. The mark of a good company/retailer etc is how quickly, and more importantly, how efficiently, they deal with the matter. This would seem to be both, so whoever they are well done.
