Hi we are new to caravaning, we have just purchased our very first caravan, a bailey Senator Louisianna 2006 model. Does anyone know if we should have any other documents other than the warranty registration form. Should we also have a log book type of document?? We were also hoping to sell our current vehicle a Lexus GS300 SE but unfortunately it looks like we may have to keep it. Does anyone have any views on this option. Looking at the figures it appears to be able to do the job of towing albeit a bit uneconomical. Any information would be very greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Amanda.

In your thread you didn't say whether you purchased your caravan from a dealership or privately.

However, you should have a Chris Registration document, which the previous owner sends part of the document off to Chris to inform them of new ownership. Similar to exchange of road vehicle.

If you haven't got this document you can get your Chris information from the caravan windows, where the VIN/cassis number should be found etched into the windows.

I would advise you contact either Chris (number can be found in any caravan magazine) or get in touch with the manufacturers, to ensure that the caravan has not been stolen or involved in a major accident.

All manufacturer documentation about the maintenance of the caravan which are quite extensive on a caravan of this age.

As for the towing vehicle I'm afraid all guzzle more fuel when towing.

Hope this is helpful.
