NEW Honda CRV.......6 month delivery.??????

Last March I ordered a new Honda CRV Diesel Automatic, I was given a 12 to 16 week delivery, which I was stunned with at the time, but accepted........that delivery has now gone out to 26 weeks..YES, thats 6 months.!!!!!

The main dealership has offered to give me my deposit back as they are themselves so ashamed of the delay. Or maybe its the fact that my current car will be 6 months older, and worth less when they get it, and I'm getting the CRV at last Marches price, buy the same model now and its more expensive.

Anyone reccomend another 4x4 of similar price, maybe even just second hand.

Having driven and towed with a CR-V autiomatic, quite frankly I wouldn't entertain one. The gearbox was awful - very 1980's. I was amazed that a Company like Honda could get it so wrong. Perhaps they've gone back to the drawing board (hence the delay) to fit a decent 'box.

Hi both,in case you had'nt noticed Honda CR-V did not get a very good report in PC tow car tests this month, lots of other very good towcars.

Hi,

When we were looking at the CRV manual, the dealership told us it would be 6 months before we could get one. In the end we have brought the new hyundai santafe, which we ordered at the end of april and pick up on the 5th july.

With a 6 month wait for a CRV they are probably in demand for people who dont want to wait so the dealer knows that he will still take the car and sell quite easily as the new price.

At present they will have to absorb the price increase.

If you want a factory build ML then its a 8-9 month wait.

If its the car you want its worth the wait.

How long is the wait for a non-factory built one ?
