Well I logged in without a problem, but I don't like the extra message which tells me that I've 'subscribed' to a thread. I know I have, I can read my message there, so why another message is required I'm not sure!

I've now found out how to unsubscribe, but I didn't subscribe in the first place, just replied!

Please fix it so that you have to actually click the 'subscribe' button to 'subscribe' and that the reply button won't automatically assume you want to subscribe!

According to Userlist I have posted 6160 times but am a nothing. I suspect JTQ has done more than most and he too is a has been. I an sure the appropriates credits will be resolved in due course as techno phobe idiots like me gradually adapt.
In the meantime how on earth do I turn off this barrage of e-mails in my inbox telleing me someone has posted. Too much of this and I am afraid I may switch off. BUT not before I have done my best . I have tried the Gravatar thingy. It is slow so I go down for a cuppa. Then I get a message saying I've been gone too long and Whoops there is an error. Do I need more patience?????? Ok yes but I must say in the kindest possible way this new site is not as user friendly and some of the others out there. Sory but as i am an IT thicko I really am struggling today.

There are a lot of new features on this new forum and there will inevitably be some that people really like and maybe some that have shown up issues that can only be resolved when they are identified by us using the website and forum and finding our way around (which I'm still doing).
Constructive feedback is welcome, the Haymarket team have done a great job in launching this forum with everything up and running and they are still working behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly.
Does anybody remember the last 'upgrade' when it took months just to persuade the web builders to let us have 'smiley emoticon thingy's'?
This new build is light years further forward, so thanks for your patience, if you are stuck give Damian or myself a shout and we'll get back to you as soon as possible to try to help.

I'm sure things will settle down after a while, but I did find it extremely frustrating not being able to log in; the system wouldn't recognise my usual details, and like the previous poster, my postcode kept coming up as my username. Hope it's solved now but, Parksy, I clicked onto your 'contact me here' link, and just got onto a page asking me to register with Gmail. What if I don't want to??? I get fed up with having to register my details on every site to which I get directed! So as you will have noticed, I didn't mail you! At least I haven't been timed out on this session (she said - famous last words)

Anyway, good luck with the new Forum, I think we'll just need a bit of patience, and lots of guidance from you and Damion :) :)

I think the timing out issue has been fixed, i have been logged on all evening so far, Thank you for sorting that i feel much better now ;)
i have to say the barrage of emails did get on my nerves but i soon found the unsubscribe button i believe having the subscribe button un-ticked by default then if you wanted to subscribe you tick the box.

Now the changes have been made i am beginning to like the page.

To avoid having unwanted emails scroll to the top of the message board and you will see the welcome message with your name and avatar. There will be a subscribe/ unsubscribe button underneath the welcome box which allows you to unsubscribe to everything on that particular message board.
If there is a thread that you are interested or involved in you can then subscribe to just that thread.

Hi all, well I have stopped the unwanted emails just asked the computer to dump them in Junk mail, which it deletes when I log off. Cant see the point of them.
Regards this Gravator its not for me, I find all these gismos that it can create quite irritating. If it means not having the Roman soldier so be it.
So far I have not experienced any problems with the new set up, I use Internet explorer Windows 7 v 11.
I may have been the first to use it as I had just finished a quote on the old programme when , Suddenly there was this new setup so I just logged in and carried on quoting, a very big thank you to the modds for correcting my name.

Gotta say - I like this new format (sorry), I can use all the icons etc that I couldn't use before, it's faster, too. Well done PC!

Hi to you all out there. Back in AT LAST. There have been gremlins afoot.
I must say that the new look is really quite something and a whole load of new and rather long overdue features.
I am rather surprised that with the massive improvements that have been initiated that images still cannot be posted directly from our own PC's,or am I missing something.
Image hosting and the need to often downsize before attaching is a pain in the rear panel!!!!
I am going to look forward to getting my head around all of the new toys.
Is it any coincidence that the site has a very similar appearance to CaravanTalk & a couple of others on the internet. It clearly has a very openly laid out format and hopefully using it will be easy.
