new member here

hi everyone. I've been a member here for a few days and have already received some great advice and help. what a fantastic resource, for a newbie like myself.

I have bought a 2008 Ace Award Brightstar 2 berth caravan and will be towing it with a VW Caddy Maxi 2.0 TDI Highline Van. we are completely new to the world of caravanning and aim to stay fairly close to home in North Norfolk for the first 2 or three weekends. This way we can get a feel for how well the van will tow the caravan and at least we are not too far from home should disaster strike.. 🙂

now trying to decide which of the two caravan clubs to join (I have not looked yet but im sure this has been debated at length on here already), and the merits of each.

we look forward to taking part in the forum. thank you for letting us join.

Regards

Robbie

My advice would be to join both. Both provide a monthly magazine and website access. Both have their own sites and CS or CLs (small privately owned sites with about 5 pitches). The C&CC will have a wider range of units on site, while the C&MC as the title suggests is geared towards 'tin boxes'. Both have availability of insurance, breakdown, advice, and overseas departments, as well as days out discounts. You will have a good spread of available sites. I suppose if you want to compare then the sites at Sandringham are separated by a short footpath, and at Malvern they are adjacent! I have my favourites in both clubs!
Definitely felt like caravanning weather today so enjoy!

We were down at Malvern club site the other year and had a wander round the other one , both nice . Like you said they are right next door to each other!
We are only in the caravan and motorhome club as it is good enough for us and what we need . CL's in summer, hardstanding for the winter!

Welcome to the forum.
The two clubs are very similar in many ways with an excellent set of services. The C&CC insurance tends to be cheapest but the CAMH breakdown cover is cheapest normally. Their breakdown covers are generally wider than you will get elsewhere and cover the breakdown of the caravan which most others exclude and dual recovery which takes you to a site if you are on the way their and brings you back if the car cannot be repaired in time.
If it is the sites you are looking at the CAMH has far more. They can get booked up though but they do not ask for a deposit and you can chose your own pitch from those of the type you book that are free.
The C&CC has less sites but they are usually easier to book but they charge a deposit for the bookings and they find you the pitch. Both maintain them to a high standard although the CAMH is usually the highest.
The fees are similar so it is really a case of looking at both and see where you feel happiest.
