In the process of sourcing a new to us Tourer, we have our ideal wish list / layout, but we appreciate their will have to be some compromises along the way as budget will dictate.
Any advice on practicalities, insurance, must haves etc will be greatly received.
We know it’s going to be a big learning process, but keen to get things underway.

Hi. Welcome to the forum. Lots of help on here. First thing to consider is how much weight your car will tow, then look at vans within that limit that offer you the right number of berths. There is no substitute for getting around a lot of dealers and getting in and out of as many vans as possible, just to see how each layout feels and if it would work for you. Every layout has its compromises and which one is acceptable depends on your family size and how you plan to use it. Big, all facility sites, or small CLs with no facilities, or off grid, short stops or extended stays etc.
Take your time and enjoy the process. The hunt for the right one is great fun.
There is so much possible advice to give about buying; I am sure that others on this forum will add some more.

Thanks Mel, absolutely I’ve just been talked into it by hubby and I’m fully onboard with it and excited (too much) lol. Process started, we’re close to retirement age and done with Airports etc - we’re on the cabaret circuit so know a few sites, which is a start. What we buy is mainly for just the two of us with the option of having friends coming along occasionally. We realise we’re on a huge learning journey, but let the fun begin - Liz
