Hi everyone, I bought this caravan last week in New Zealand. Unfortunately it came with many in built services/appliances problems that I have now repaired. Initial problems included gas fire not working, hot water cylinder not working on gas, heater air ducts fan not working and fridge not working on gas. All initial thoughts that it was an electrical problem and in this case it was. After checking all electrical appliances with a multimeter which looked okay except for the fridge. I then removed the fridge slightly forward from the cupboard space that revealed burnt wiring to the max......I’ve since replaced the burnt out wiring, cleaned up all corroded joints and now EVERY ITEM IS WORKING.
Unfortunately I don’t know what caused this problem? Somehow this fridge igniter switch/wiring is connected to all of the other appliance/services?
I’ve attaced a photo of the burnt out wires on top of the fridge.
I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU TO FIX YOUR SIMILAR PROBLEMS?
