The exterior and interior of the new model is virtually identical to the present model.

However the 3.2 DID engine has been reworked. The Co2 emissions have been much reduced and the engine produces an extra 50ib/ft of torque.

The combined fuel consumption for the manual is 35.3 and the auto 33.2. Quite an improvement.

It has 18 inch alloys on all models except the Diamond model which has 20 inch alloys.

The satellite navigation system has been greatly improved and has been described as brilliant. It gives up to date congestion and other relevant traffic information via the Traffic Message Channel.

The built in Bluetooth employs steering wheel mounted buttons and voice recognition and a dual phone book function enables you to store the phone books of up to seven compatable handsets. In addition 32 names can be stored in the vehicles own phone book.

Many more improvements have been made.

According to Mitsubishi 70% of all new Shoguns are bought by previous Shogun owners.

As you may be able to tell, i am a Shogun fanatic!! However i will have to wait a couple of years for a second hand one!!

Rusty,

Yes i have a 2004 long wheelbase Shogun Elegance Auto. It is my third Shogun. I bought it at 12 months old, it was an ex Mitsubishi management car.

My mirrors are "Vision Mirrors for a 4x4". They are large mirrors and have rachet type adjustable straps. They do not obstruct the cars own mirrors. Cost about

Tried a Shogun, loved a Shogun. I have tried ALL the 4x4 & I think that the Shogun is by far the most underrated. I would not buy one if I trecked the motorways endlessly but as a country vehicle - where I live - it was great.

The only problem was that as it is a very new model there were no discounts & that made it expensive!

Chris well put, its designed for what it says on the label a 4x4, l know the Sorrento is good car but when it comes down to raw ability then its not in the same class has the Shogun for Country pursuits.

Where l live only Land Rovers or Toyotas and good old Shoggy can prevail, for get the others 4x4's had to drag them out of the snow this winter and lot more than the likes of Mondeoes, Astra's Kuga's, Nissans, Honda SV and such like

Now wait for the onslaught of mine's better than yours LOL Oops!
