New Sorento

Is there anyone else out there who was stupid enough to buy the new Sorento without checking that a towbar was available.

I've just bought one only to find that I cant tow with it.

Absolutely bloody marvelous.

I have a brand new Sorento and sourced a towbar no problem (Witter), I presume you are refering to the facelift Sorento with the new style lights etc, I think you will find that this is basically the same car 'underneath' so a towbar from the previous model will fit, it is probablly not listed because towbar makers have not updated their lists etc. Hope this helps.

Speak to a local towbar specialist - you know, the type of business that does 5 or 6 bars each day. They will know.

If you don't know of a firm like this contact Phil Taylor Towbars on 02392 594675. http://www.philtaylortowbars.co.uk/

According to Witter The New shape Sorento needs a different towbar which is currently under developement but will not be available for 6 weeks approx.

I have also ordered the Facelift new Sorento should be delivered in 2 weeks. My dealer has already had the new tow bar to fit to this model. I have asked for a removable one to be fitted to mine. Witter web site says they are available at the end of October!!!

May be because I want a fixed bar, as opposed to a detachable one. I use a Thule Cycle carrier attached to the tow bar. I am only quoting local specialist supplier. Who knows who is telling the truth, we are after all in the realm of "car Traders" honesty is not an attribute that is closely associated with them
