new to towing

Hi all. Bought first caravan a Buccaneer Elan 15 2008 and were looking forward to 2019. Already booked 3 weeks away and hopefully a lot more to come. Towcar is a Honda crv but i am thinking of changing to a Ford Edge and would like to hear if anyone has any thoughts on them or maybe someone has one.

Thanks Ian.

Try a search as a while back someone was considering a Discovery or an Edge. Since he didn’t need the Discovery off road capability he opted for an Edge in terms of value for money and overall level of kit.

Hi & welcome aboard Ian from a fellow newbie to caravans. Not an exact match to your request but these might be of interest to read if you haven't already.

Welcome to the forum. Afraid I have no experience of the Ford so cannot help with that. If you have further questions though please ask them as you will see there is plenty of help on here.k

If you passed your driving test after 1/1/97 you need to watch the weights as the gross train weight - that is fully laden tow and caravan - must not exceed 3500Kg unless you have taken the 'E' test to upgrade your driving licence to B+E. If you passed your test before that date you don't have a problem.
