new window-diy fit?

Hi all,i've got a new window waiting at the dealers. They will fit it for me vas they broke it when the van was serviced last month, but to save tugging the van to them,I was wondering if I could fit it myself as it looks straight forward,I'm assuming the small locking handles come ready attached? Its a small kitchen window on a swift conqueror '06 model, and looks like it should just slide out. Thanks for any advice in advance,stuart1

Stuart, the window will come as a bare unit, no bits attached, all the furniture has to be transferred from the original unit.

I would be inclined to let the dealer do it, as badly positioned catches will mean water may get in, and if you have fitted them yourself, there will be no comeback .

Hi Stuart,

I agree with Damian, but let them pay. Either claim you fuel back from the dealer, or, they bring it to you and fit it as it is their fault you are having to go back so they should pay. I had a similar claim and they apid up no problem!

Good Luck.

Alan

Whilst windows are very easy to fit for anyone that can use a screwdriver, if the dealer broke the original then they should either be paying you for your time and fuel to take the caravan back or they should send a technician to your house to fit it.
