Nighthawk M1 Issues

Hi forumistas! Apologies in advance, but this is going to be a long one 😳

I’ve only just joined the forum having been an avid camper for many years with the family and having recently bought a lovely caravan.

I did a bit of research in mobile routers and the Netgear Nighthawk M1 hit much of my desirables from price point, to simplicity of use and finally to reliability. I set the system up with the caravan plonked on our drive and got it working through the caravan’s fitted aerial. I had to buy a few fittings and signal detector and all was well until going on site yesterday. So put my mobile’s ee SIM card into the nighthawk which has an unlimited data allowance. Went through all the protocols, pointed the aerial towards the strongest signal, full bar 4G showing on the router. Router to TV connection is an RJ45 and shows 1 device (TV) connected on the router. All was good….

But for the life of me I cannot connect up to the internet even though the network settings shows that I am connected on both the TV network settings and on the Nighthawk. I’ve even phoned ee to see if it was anything blocking on their end but everything seems to be ok. When I put the SIM back in the phone, all was well again. I’ve logged on to the Netgear website to select ee as a carrier and gone through the setting but still no joy.

Any help would be very much appreciated 😫🙏🏻

You are likely missing the apn config file. Look in your phone or on the EE site to tell you how to build the apn file which is just text.
