Hi to all,I recently purchased teh aboe to two our Bailey Limousin twin axle van and would like to report that I am now more than happy with it.Standard the engine pruduces 174 bhp and solo on a run i can managed 37.4 mpg and 23.7 when towing.

I purchased a tuning chip from Car Performance Parts in Devon and fitted it to the car and now i get 42.7 solo and 26.9 when towing.I know it is not a great difference but with the extra torque it really feels much better.Does anyone else have a Pathfinder? I feel that most people overlook them but it is a very good tow car.The mpg is so good because most of the time it is only in rear wheel drive and is switchable to four wheel drive just by turning a switch on the dash.great !

By the way I needed to buy four new tyres for it and was quoted almost £800 for new bf goodrich tyres but local 4x4 specialist put me onto Cooper Discoverer tyres so I bought them cost me £368 inc balance and vat fitted, dead chuffed. If like me you have never heard of them, they are american and are fitted to most 4x4 in the states.great.

A very merry christmas and a very happy new year to all.

hmmm i dont really want to be the bearer of bad news but you will find that most people will not touch these cars due to the very bad reputation and publicity they have. ok the reputation is based on the navara rather than the pathfinder but the vehicles are identical in the running gear so the two vehicles share the same unreliability issues.

Unfortunately you will have made the potential and allmost certain engine failure a bit more definate by fitting a tuning device since this will stress the engine more and the main failing point is the number 3 main bearing on the crankshaft which is allready under stress in standard form.

have a look at the following link and read carefully, unfortunately its not pleasant reading for navara or pathfinder owners.

apparently nissan are denying any resonsibility for the failures despite a recent tv documentary on the subject.

You are wrong about the engine issues. They apply to the D22 Navara, YD25 engine. This was never fitted to the pathfinder, it has the D40 engine which is more powerful and does not have any reported weakness.

I tow a heavy twin axle with a pathfinder and have had no problems whatsoever with it.

When i last had the misfortune to be at a nissan dealer awaiting my bodged service to be rectifield, i got speaking to a disgrunted pathfinder owner.

His firm supplied them for on site use, which involved covering some rough terrain.

The headlight was prone to "popping out"!

Hello , with respect ,dont want to dampen what is your pride and joy,but those tunit boxs dont help matters.they operate in a very crude fashion.i wouldnt bother with one and tempt fate ,its not as though you need the extra power.
