Road lighting problems are frequently down to either corrosion in the light fittings, or the plug and socket connection to the car.

Could be blown bulbs

Easiest to check the car connection. Some times the brass pins that make the connections are split, and they receive so they don't make a good contact. This can often be helped by prizing them apart a bit more.

If no joy, remove the covers off the light fittings and clean all the connections.

If still no joy, the wiring in the plugs and sockets may have worked loose.

EDIT: apologies Prof, I really must learn to type a little faster!
Hi smiley,
One of the electrical experts will probably be along shortly, but in the meantime I would be inclined to check that all fuses are OK and none blown.
Then I would suggest you consider checking for good contacts and lack of corrosion in your van's lamp clusters.
If you have access to a voltmeter or better still a multi meter check for the correct voltage at the bulb holders..... don't forget you will need the ignition on in your car and a kind soul or improvised "weight" to operate the footbrake.
If you dont have access to a meter then find two bits of wire and a 12v bulb and use that to check if it lights when connected twix the bulb holder and earth (ground)
Many faults with lights on cars and caravans are often due to a defective earth ...
Good luck and of course happy Caravanning

thanks

We have looked at fuses, they all appear to be good no breaks...
Not being electrically savvy this is a challenge for her as there are neighbours at home to help either..
So we are going to look now at the plugs from van as suggested to check for loose wire. cleaning pins first as they look dirty
