No electrics on van when connected to car

Hi all when our friends connected their eccles stirling van to their Mondeo they found they had no electrics (rear lights / indicators) on van the 12V system worked ok. Anybody had this problem b4 with same van or any other van.They have used van b4 with no probs i think it could be a fuse or all the rain we have had recently any advice would be much appreciated Thanks.

Hi Stephen,

Sounds like a bad eath connection at the pin terminals in either the socket at the caravan or on the car. Ease back the body of the couplings and check for corrosion around the connections. Hope this helps.

try putting power from the the car battery direct to one of the pins on the van plug (the middle one will do lights) via a wire and see if any thing works if not is is probably the earth wire thats at fault also try spraying both the plug and socket with electrical cleaner or wd40 and wiggle it about to get a better connection if this does not work let us know as there is other things to try
