So a 160 mile round tow this morning, Sam from MJ Lovell Highbridge Somerset gave the Wyoming a careful once over. This guy is a serious professional . Like a good Doctor who gives you comfort and you trust him / her implicitly . Sam says he can fix her as good as new and I don’t have to worry about parts.
She‘s booked in end October for as long as it takes.
It struck me very quickly Sam knows more about caravan materials and structures than Bailey, Elddis or Swift put together.
Decent caravan repair shops are a rarity as we know. Maybe a good business for a clever youngster to join?.
Update will follow later in the year.
Here’s some before and after pics of their previous repairs.
A friend of mine has their motorhome booked in for extensive damp repair work in August, estimated at £10k…….ouch.

An update. CAMC Assessor inspected the Wyoming last week. He’s discussed repairs with the body shop and given them the written go ahead. I obviously pay the £100 x/s once repairs are complete. Work starts end of October which leaves us the rest of the season for touring.
The entire experience with CAMC, their Insurance agents Devitt’s the Assessor and MJ Lovell has been painless and these days very reassuring.
I wonder how other caravan Insurers perform?

That’s excellent service from CMHC which further supports other’s experience.

Previously we have had a claim with Towergate and no issues resolving the issue. We later had a claim with CC when they still did insurance for caravans and again no issue. We did once have insurance with CC for our car and within 15 days of taking out insurance had a small mishap with an overhanging branch on a campsite. Again CC resolved the issue quickly however the following year the car insurance was almost the same as the cost of the repair to the car i.e. over £800! We moved elsewhere and despite the claim, premium was under £250.

It would seem that despite CMHC no longer doing "insurance for caravans", the level of service under Caravan Cover is still excellent, so their policyholders need have no concerns. From the policy holders perspective there’s no difference.
