My late brother worked for a short spell at Walkers. He went to the pub one Friday lunchtime and on return set the cutting machine to the incorrect thickness. Resulting in a wrecked batch. That was the end of his working career which could be counted in weeks rather than years. ☹️

It used to be bad enough when the blue twist of blue waxed paper with the salt was missing but worse when you another one was found by biting into it unknowingly

Read recently that the blue bag was not in there originally, when they were introduced into the pubs the pubs were supplied with a salt pot on the tables and you could help yourself. therein lies the problem the salt pots themselves were stolen !!
Hence the introduction of the blue bag (now white)
Keep munching, I like them I do.

Cannot remember when last we had a packet of Walkers, but must be 10 or more years ago. We do eat crisps. :D

My wife and I are on diametrically opposed diets - she's very underweight so allowed/encouraged to snack on crisps and chocolate while I have an inoperable gallstone so have to reduce my fat intake - so she has a packet of crisps every evening but I'm allowed just one crisp!

Crisps are a holiday treat for us. Trying to find the colourless bag of salt was impossible visually . Emptied the bag onto a plate to find the salt. Kev’s original salt cruet will be easier in future😉

A very slight Fred Drift, does anyone remember when Salt shakers in fish and chips , shops, had the number of holes reduced, so that there was not so much consumed. To help our health.

Salt shakers in the UK were encouraged to be reduced from around 17-18 holes to just 5 holes in some local council initiatives, with the first such five-hole shakers being developed and offered by Gateshead Council in 2006. This initiative gained more public attention in 2012 when multiple councils began issuing them to chip shops as part of efforts to cut the amount of salt consumed by the public.
