No network

Been trying to phone out and there is an issue with the Three Network. All our calls go via our wifi as no signal in our area however as the network is down we still would not be able to make or receive calls. We no longer have a landline. I was thinking that maybe we should get a back up PAYG sim card that we can load with a tenner and the amount stays there even several months later. Most PAYG sim the tenner seems to drop off after 30 days? Any suggestions and is anyone else having issues with their network?

My BiL has a pay as you go sim. He doesn’t use it being in a care home. But I make one call about once a month otherwise I’m told he would loose his connection. Hes with Tesco mobile.

Giffgaff give you six months without activity before they chase you to disconnect. I use them for my tracker and anything else that sends an occasional txt. Not the cheapest but they have the longest quiet period.

Vodafone and Three's networks are still separate at this point - I use Vodafone for internet and mobile and both signals are fine at present.
