no water?

hi all, just joined so hope this is the right place

me and my partner bought our 1st caravan 2 weeks ago off my uncle for a bargain price off my uncle. its a great start, it is a lunar clubman 460 2 ek.

it hasnt been used for 3 years, when we got the water going loads of black bits were coming out, we were there again sunday and all of a sudden the water just stopped and i dont have a clue why. i think i read somewhere that someone said that there pressure switch was clogged up with these bits?

any help would be great 🙂

The first thing I would urge you to do is get the van fully serviced to ensure all the appliances, especially the gas items are working correctly.

As for the water system, were the black bits granular or slime?

If granular it will be a water filter having disintegrated and the carbon granules been sucked into the pipework.

It will need thoroughly cleaning out.

im getting it serviced in around 6 weeks as its coming into the better weather the caravan place is fully booked.

ive checked all gas piping (still in date) ran everything through, put on 2 new tyres, checked brakes etc

and yes they are granular bits, how would i go about cleaning it all through then to remove any blockages if thats what it is?

check the gause at the end of the taps they unscrew that is a problem with a van that has water after a dry spell.

ok. i didnt know they had gauze on them as they are only little thin things
