Can anyone recommend good caravan park within North East Scotland. We are new to caravaning, have been away once so far. Looking for some guidlines. As long as the site has good toliet block facilities, anything else goes..! Look forward to some replies.

We like the CC site in Braemar (called Invercauld) which is great if you like walking. Balmoral Castle and the nearby distillery are not too far away. The toilet blocks are vey good.

Another favourite is the C&CC site just outside Nairn (Delnies Wood). The toilet blocks are clean but basic and just need a wee bit of a spruce up. There are lots of things to do nearby. The beach is lovely. Inverness is fairly close. There are quite a few castles within a half hour drive and lots more distilleries (if you like whisky). We've seen dolphins in the Moray Firth which is close by.

We can also recommend Aberlour Gardens, near Craigellachie, which is in a walled garden and has the biggest showers imagineable - perfect for washing small children. It's also in the heart of the distillery area. There is also a Cooperage fairly close where you can watch barrels being made. The cooperage also has a tea-room. Not very far away is the C&CC site which is in what was originally a POW camp.

I could go on and on but will stop now

Enjoy

Thank you to everyone that has replied. Im in Aberdeen so able to travel anywhere within reasonable distance. Just returned from Forfor Lochside Caravan Park. Fantasic recommend to anyone. Will definitely be returning there. Plenty to do and see and the caravan park had a good atmosphere. My 16 month old daughter had a great time.

If you are in Aberdeen why not try Huntly Castle CC Site or Aden Park Site at Mintlaw?

Council site at Stonehaven gets a good name but never used it.
