Novice caravaner and winch challenge !

We have just bought our first caravan intend to park it at home but we are told we will need a winch to move the caravan up the incline from the road .

The caravan is fitted with an Alco stabaliser and the car is being fitted with a detachable tow bar . Can anyone advise on what type of winch we need ?

Have you thought about fitting a mover to your caravan ,instead of going to the expence of a winch, if you read other threads regarding movers i think you will find the mover is the lesser of the 2 evils .

We used a winch to get our caravan off the road and into its space by the side of the house.

It was a nightmare, my wife turned the winch and I guded the van, she hated it. Best thing we did was invest in a mover, it is so easy.
