Need to change the number plate on the caravan. Tried to remove the plate earlier today but couldn't remove it easily, the old plate is, I believe fastened with adhesive tape. Can't get any leverage on the plate to remove, any idea how I can remove the plate?

Warm it up with a hair dryer or hot water and try using strimmer cord or plastic packaging tape as a cheesecutter
Or stick the new one on the top

WD 40 will looseen the adhesive and can be used once the plate has been remeoved to clean of the residue. I use dental floss to 'saw' through the pads.

I just stuck the new one on top of the old one. Not sure why you need to remove the old one.

Just a handy hint re number plates.

The majority of DOT approved number plates are made up of the reflective backing with the characters printed on it, pressed onto a clear panel. The glues used can often fail in places along the edge of the plate, allowing water and other dirt which accumulates and can start to obscure the characters, which becomes an MOT advisory or fail.

I found some weather proof transparent tape (ALDI special from a few month ago) which I have carefully applied folded along the top edge of my new number plates to prevent water and dirt ingress.

raywood, do that enough times and you can use all the number plates as a bike rack

I kept the last car five years so numbers of plates should never be a problem if this one lasts as long.
