Back to the 70's Liz, they don't write them like this any more ;O)

And in the death

As the last few corpses lay rotting on the slimy

thoroughfare

The shutters lifted in inches in Temperance Building

High on Poacher's Hill

And red, mutant eyes gaze down on Hunger City

No more big wheels

Fleas the size of rats sucked on rats the size of cats

And ten thousand peoploids split into small tribes

Coverting the highest of the sterile skyscrapers

Like packs of dogs assaulting the glass fronts of Love-Me Avenue

Ripping and rewrapping mink and shiny silver fox, now legwarmers

Family badge of sapphire and cracked emerald

Any day now

The Year of the Diamond Dogs

"This ain't Rock'n'Roll

This is Genocide"

Happy days ;O)

Eddie Cochran

I'm a-havin' a nervous breakdown

A mental shakedown

See my hands how they shiver

See my knees how they quiver

My whole body's in a jitter

I'm a-havin' a nervous breakdown

Oh when I went to see a doctor just the other day

I'm about to tell you what the man had to say

Well he says, Eddie boy you just gotta slow down

You can't keep a-traipsin' all over town

I have to give you a physical check

I've come to the conclusion you're a total wreck

I made up my mind, I better change my way

My shattered moods have seen a better day

Well no more girls for a week or two

No more running 'round with the usual crew

No more movies or a stayin' out late

My baby has to find herself another date

Brian

Leg end Bowie ;-)

Callin' out around the world

Are you ready for a brand-new beat

Summer's here and the time is right

For dancin' in the street

Dancin' in Chicago (dancin' in the street)

Down in New Orleans (dancin' in the street)

In New York City (dancin' in the street)

All we need is music, sweet music

There'll be music everywhere

There'll be swingin', swayin' and records playin'

Dancin' in the street

It doesn't matter what you wear

Just as long as you are there

So come on, every guy, grab a girl

Everywhere around the world they'll be dancin'

Dancin' in the street (dancin' in the street)

It's an invitation across the nation

A chance for folks to meet

There'll be laughin', and singin', and music swingin'

Dancin' in the street

Philadelphia, PA (dancin' in the street)

Baltimore 'n' DC now (dancin' in the street)

Can't forget the Motor City (dancin' in the street)

On the streets of Brazil

Back in the U.S.S.R

Don't matter where you are

All we need is music, sweet music

There'll be music everywhere

There'll be swingin', swayin', records playin'

Dancin' in the street

It doesn't matter what you wear

Just as long as you are there

So come on, every guy, grab a girl

Everywhere around the world they'll be dancin'

They're dancin' in the street (dancin' in the street)

Way down in L.A., every day

They're dancin' in the street (dancin' in the street)

Across in China too, me and you

Dancin' in the street (dancin' in the street)

Don't you know there'll be dancin'

Dancin' in the street (dancin' in the street

My Mama don't like it, the way I comb my hair,

Papa thinks I'm crazy, in the clothes I wear

It's a hit come on records and I play it all day

But I'm what I am and I'm gonna keep a rockin' that way.

Chorus

I'm a rockabilly rebel from head to toe

I gotta keep a-rockin' everywhere I go

Everybody join us, we're good company

Be a real cool cat, be a rockabilly rebel like me.

The kids in the schoolhouse they couldn't wait too long,

When the school is over, they put their cat clothes on,

Oughta hear the slap bass swingin' to the band

It is a real rockin' rhythm that is sweepin' all over this land

Chorus

Squares get the message get the boppin' beat,

Let them tramp through your body, to the head to your feet,

Shakin' in your shoes, boy, oh, don't it make you feel wow,

Well if you can't dance, we're not gonna show you how.

Chorus

Sing little birdie

Sing, sing, sing, little birdie

Sing, sing, sing it

There's a bird on a branch

There's a branch on a tree

There's a tree in the meadow

And that's where I long to be

'Neath that bird on a branch

'Neath that branch on a tree

'Neath that tree in the meadow

Where you said you love me

Sing, little birdie, sing your song

Sing, you'll help our love along

Sing, little birdie up above

Sing a song of love

There's a bird on a branch

There's a branch on a tree

Where we carved our initials there

For all the world to see

'Neath that bird on a branch

'Neath that branch on a tree

Where we promised our true love

For all eternity

Sing, little birdie, sing your song

Sing, you'll help our love along

Sing, little birdie up above

Sing a song of love

When the years pass on by

And we're wed, you and I

And the bluebirds are singing

Their sweet love songs in the sky

We will dream of that bird

On a branch, on a tree

And that tree in the meadow

Where you said you love me

Sing, little birdie, sing your song

Sing, you'll help our love along

Sing, little birdie up above

Sing a song of love

Sing, little birdie, sing your song

Sing, you'll help our love along

Sing, little birdie up above

Sing a song of love

See , you can do it when you try.

BBC hissing and sqeaking out "Family Favourites". Pearl and Teddy still seem to have it over Puff Daddy, Snow Patrol or Girls Aloud and Moyles some how ;-)
