Omnivent Roof Vent

I occasionally get a problem with the roof vent sticking in the closed positon. This usually happens when attempting to reopen the vent following a longer period of it being in the open position. The plastic key sticks fast and then suddenly opens with a jerk as if catching on something.When left alone for a period of time it will simple open with out any fuss.Any one got any idea what is causing this. Jim , I had that problem and it was easily cured by opening the vent and spraying/wiping silicone polish round the opening.It almost felt as though it would break it was so hard to open.
 
I had this problem. I sorted it by adjusting the catch. A short term fix is to ease it back a little after locking, so that it's not closed tight.
