After spending 3 months in France and Spain from March to June this year we decided to change the car.The reasons for this were:-

FED UP HAVING TO MOVE AWNING ,POLES SUN LOUNGERS,WASTE N WATER CONTAINERS,ECOMAT ETC before we could get in van to make a cuppa and then putting it all back again

SICK OF ONLY STARING AT BARRIERS ON MOTORWAYS FOR HOURS.

NO ROOM ROUND MY FEET FOR BAG,ATLAS,SNACKS,CAMPSITE DIRECTORY ETC.

STRUGGLING TO REACH TOLL BOOTHS FOR TICKETS AND PAYMENTS.

DIFFICULTY GETTING IN AND OUT WITH MY ARTHRITIC HIP.

So goodbye and well done Rover 75!!!

HELLO AND WELCOME JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE!!!

It has a little better fuel consumption BUT lots more room and DEEP JOY, running boards,so easy entry and exit. And I CAN SEE FOR MILES AND MILES!! At last I can understand why people like this type of vehicle.

Having said all that the Rover did not miss a beat over all the miles we covered so I can recommend them to anyone who does"nt have to take up the back seat with 2 tiny dogs.

Hello Frank,we left UK on March 10 via the tunnel.Drove 350 miles to Camping de la Touche at Liguiel,Loire Valley for 1 week. 2 days then to El Campello on Costa Blanca.Stayed 8 and half weeks at Camping Bon Sol.Had whole of bottom of site with sea views front and mountains to side.We payed 251 euros monthly with electricity. This was not our first choice but as we arrived easter it was crowded everywhere. We stayed at La Touche again on way back and then 5 days at La Bien Assise just outside Calais to get dogs passports sorted with vet However when we go back we will be looking for a site in Spain with better amenities and hopefully a bit more green and less blue and white plastic!!!

Met lots of nice people and enjoyed our first big adventure. We also had some family come over to visit and the cost was just a few euros extra. Enjoy yourselves.
