hi all we are hoping to use an electric george foreman bbq in france this summer the site we are stayig on has 6 amp the gf bbq instructions say only use 10 amp extension lead will the gf work on site...c&p

They may be building a large safety margin into the recommendation for cable size. What amperage/wattage is the grill?

A 1000watt gf grill with 180 volt supply is 5.55amps

1000watt/180volt= 5.55amps

1000watt/220volt=4.54amps

I wouldn't recommend it on French sites.I think a lot of them supply lower power than what they tell you.You'll probably only be getting 4amp when they tell you six.
