I had my very long awaited (7 years) operation done yesterday. 2.5 hours on the table. My hero surgeon did struggle but conquered the difficult job of expanding arteries from less than 4 mm to 10 mm. And putting in kissing stents. I know all this because I was awake throughout.

Great team, with lots of joking, and 60's soul music played.

Reading my care notes. My arteries have been sealed with a paste consisting of glue and collagen that quickly seals the puncture wound and dissolves over 30 days.

Part of the advice says, "Sexual activity: check with your doctor". Now my doctor is a fine looking young woman. I know she is happily married to a soldier. I really do not think she would appreciate such a request.

I managed one 4 min walk this morning without stopping. just off for a 10 min walk.

So hopefully I will soon have two mobility scooters for sale.

A neighbour just visited. She has just written a poem for me.

Ode to John's legs
John has had his op
He's as pleased as he can be
He's waited over 7 years
To get a remedy
We hope he takes it steady
To get back to the best
Marj will have her work cut out
To make sure that he rests

And so into the future
We wish John all that's fine
And look forward to him achieving
Everything in time

It is great to have good neighbours. I got so many offers to take me to the hospital for 7:30. But we could manage within the family.

Thanks, I did 0.35 miles yesterday morning then 0.6 in the afternoon. But sore that evening, But I managed 1 mile today. And this evening I feel comfortable. I now need to build up the muscle that has been wasted over the past years.

All going well.

Take your time, whatever age we are we all still think we’re 18. You’ll get there, keep at it. If you don’t already, consider downloading Strava to your phone so you can log all your activities.

I have an app on the phone that tracks my walking distance and sets me challenges, problem is that if I don't have the phone with me I get no credit for the distance walked. So I then suffer depression and pshycntraic issues. as I am reminded that I have failed that day's challenge. I have even been known to climb the stairs 20 times before going to bed in order to get a day's challenge over the line :ROFLMAO:

About 20 years ago, I had a huge lump removed from my right knee, a" Gouty Topus" two days later, everything felt fine 12 big staples holding my skin together. Decided I was fit enough to get to the nearest pub with the dogs , about 300 yards, well I got about 100 yard, and turned back. I wasn't ready for that walk yet.
Mad up for it since.
Keep it up John.
