Not sure how he has missed the Lake District. We have been numerous times and can recommend the C&CC site at Keswick and the CC site Conniston both down by the water.
Northumberland is a sparsely populated area but Alnwick and Bamburgh Castles are not to be missed although very different.
North Wales also worthwhile although we have not stayed there since the CC site at Carnafon was lost.
Not been to Sussex and Norfolk only once. Stayed at Sandringham and enjoyed that.
Motty needs to put these on his to do list and let us know how he gets on.

Just returned from 2 weeks at Cromer (Seacroft)
If you are going this summer be sure to look out for Cromer council's solution to the difficult grass cutting on the cliff edge just where the two children are looking at the view....
8 goats are fenced on this area in an effort to keep the grass short instead of as last year guys abseiling down the cliff face with strimmer's!
Leave it to you as to whether you think this is effective or not?
Personally I think the strimmer's will be back next year (not so smelly for one thing)
Have a happy holiday though.
