overnight in Dijon

Im off to Pisa in Italy in August and I am looking at an overnight stop in or around Dijon in Burgundy anybody have any Ideas or recomendations. I have no details on the municipals in Dijon however any details on a campsite would be appreciated.

Hi there

I do not know of a site in Dijon but for an overnight there is a very good site about 35 miles north on the N74 at Bourg. This is just north of Langeau and south of Langres. You exit the A31 motorway at number 6 and the site is about 10 mins away. It is next to the A74 but we were not disturbed by the road. There is a pool and a restaurant on site and the toilets are fine. Hope this is of use.

Happy travels BarryB

There's Camping Municipal du Lac in Dijon itself, at around 12 euros per night. The Caravan Club book states' 'Security much improved, lots of grass, attractive, orderly, busy site on edge of town beside lake - good for short stays'. Directions are 'From Dijon ring road, take N5 exit (W) signposted Paris, left on to A31, site immediately on right under 3m high bridge - do not tow through city centre'.

Hi Ian - there is superb municipal site just south of Dijon at Meurseault - La Grappe D'or. Four miles from Dijon south juction and are used to overnighters. In fact their main trade appears to be overnighters. We spent a week their last summer and, apart from the weather (rain for some part of everyday for the whole stay!!!) we had a good time and will probably visit again.

Small supermarket/butchers/fruit+veg/bars in village (10 mins walk), and good local restaurant on site. Entrance to site could be a little problematic to large twin axles - but saw quite a few pull on.

Do you know if you can book for just one night at the Grappe d'or or other busy municipal sites on this route or do you just turn up and hope for the best?

We are heading down to Annecy in late July and Mersault would be an ideal stop over for 1 night.
