Hayling island is very near and there are a few sites there. Fishery Creek is one.Hi Dave
We had same problem for 21 July when we come back from France as the ferry doesn't dock until the evening and didn't fancy 240 mile drive after a day on the ferry so have booked a pitch at Southsea Leisure Park. We will have hook up and as we will be arriving after the office closes the security guard will let us in and show us to our pitch. We have driven past it lots of times as we used to be frequent visitors to Portsmouth but even for those new to the area, it is extremely easy to get to.

i/m a member of the caravan and camping club so i dont think ican go there? regards daveDave,
We've used the Caravan Club site, Rookesbury Park, at Fareham as an overnight stop prior to the ferry crossing three or four times. It's approx 20 minutes drive from Portsmouth ferry terminal. Good site, up to usual CC standards. Site staff were also helpfull in allowing us to stay on site until late afternoon/early evening without charge so we could catch night ferry.
