Hi our return ferry from St Malo leaves at 10.45 am so we need to book an overnight stop for the night before. Can anyone recommend a site near to St Malo.

Thanks

Try Haliotis at Pontorson - just off the N176/N175 to the East of St Malo going towards Monty st Michel - in Camping Cheque book. Lovely small site with some large pitches and just off the main road. The only noise is the morning Church Bells which you will not mind if having to get up early to catch the ferry anyway.

Hi,

We have just booked our 2008 hloiday through the caravan club and have booked into Domain de la Ville Huchet. Dont know what its like, its new in the brochure this year, says only 2 miles to St Malo. Its only for one night stop on way back to ferry from down south so im sure it will be fine.

Hope this is of some help

Depending when your sailing is , site has become very popular and maybe full. we have been going there for the past four/five years - a lot busier now but still avery good site, little noise and handy for the town eg restaurants. Maybe better to prior book

Glen,

I can recommend the municipal site at Cancale, de la Pointe du Grouin. Have used it for 10 years now as a few days stop over at the end of the holiday, the ferry port is about 20 minutes away. The site is busy in the high season, but excellent shower/washing facilities. It has views to 'die for',looking out towards Mont St Michael, walk onto the coastal path and nearby supermarket.

Hi Helen

We stayed at a municipal right near the port. It was called something like Municipal Cite d'Alet...can't check it because the decorators have buried my book. It is right on the coast, south of the port. It is an easy stroll to lots local restaurants if you don't fancy cooking or doing too much setting up. It was too crowded when we stayed but obviously popular with both overnighters and longer stay campers/caravaners/motorhomers. I don't think they take twin axles or v.large motorhomes though. The view out to sea from the castle which is part of the site is terrific!

Regards

Denise

When we came back 4th October this year the Camp Municipal Cite d'alet was shut so we stayed at Camping de la Fontaine on the D155, 10 minutes from the ferry port. from the n137 follow the sines to Cancale. 1 euro to the city center. Small site OK for a couple of nights.

We saw three motorhomes with Welsh rugby supporters looking very sad, not happy they had just lost, not keen to have a chat!
