Hi. I have recently purchased a Bailey Pageant Vendee (2005 model) and the control panel is different from my previous caravan. My question is does the master switch have to be in the ON position for the battery to charge and the fridge to work whilst connected to the car when towing. I have looked in the manual and I cannot see any reference to it. My previous caravan had a rocker switch with car/van options.

Thanks.

Hi Martyn

We've got a Bailey Ranger, which has a similar control panel to yours.

When you are hooked up via the car, I believe all the switches on the control panel should be in the off position but on the fridge itself you should move the switch to the car battery mode. This means the fridge will be powered via the car battery. The connection between the car and the caravan battery is automatically activated when you are connected when you are driving the car.

If you want further reassurance, why don't you telephone Bailey in Bristol - they are very helpful.

I have a new Senator Louisiana, and I have noticed that even with the 12 volt isolation switch OFF, the fridge light still comes on if the fridge has not been turned completely off. Isolation switch ????
