Thinking of visiting Paris next September.

Found site at Versailles, Huttopia.

Has anyone visited it, looks hard to find?

Are there any other sites people would recommend for easy metro ride in?

Thank you.

We stayed there last year. Great location both for Versailles and Paris. However, its down a tiny residential street, we only found it by luck and the sat nav. The campsite was clean and the wash facilites were outstanding. However, the site itself is in a forest and you are put in the trees, the pitch was very tiny, in fact is was not a pitch at all, it was more like a gap in between the trees (including the tree stumps), moreover, we were put down a very steep slope we were lucky to get the caravan in and out. Would I stay there again, I would if I could guarantee a better flat pitch, if not no.

We stayed at Camping international Maisons laffite. the pitches wre flat and fairly large on an island in the seine. it was an easy train ride into central Paris with the station being about a 10 min walk if my memory serves me well or you could drive in to Paris. The camp site was clean with take away or there were some nice restaurants in the town. Easy to drive to from Le Havre last bit was through residential area. The camp site was generally pleasant enough. The town has it own race course and chateau (used in several movies) and some interesting WW2 history. look at a map of the town as it has an intereting layout some of it very grand. Giverny is about an hours drive back towards Le Harvre and there are camp sites nearby. Take confortable walking shoes for Paris and get to grips with the metro as you will need to cover a lot of ground, buy a weeks tourist pass which also covers you for the busses and you get a 10% discount on Seine boat trips from Pont Neuf. As in all big cities beware of pick pockets who zoom in on tourists and mke sure to arrive at the Tour Eiffel early to avoid the queues it is also worth an evening visit. enjoy

Thank you Peter and Adrian, however think we wil do the Laffite site as it seems easier to find - hopefully. Do you have any idea of the metro train cost?

Thank you again.

Hi Alex.

We've got back from a fantastic few days in France at the weekend, we stayed at the International park, and would happily stay there again - albeit we stayed in a static this time.

We bought a 1 day travel pass for Paris, and thought it was excellent value @ 38 Euros for 2 adults and 2 children. The ease it gave us can not be under estimated, we saw most of the sights by hopping on & off trains & Metros, as there are metro stations within a couple of minutes walk of every sight we wanted to see.

I would reccomend purchasing a bigger map than the one we got with the tickets, and it doesnt take long to get used to the lines/stations etc.

I am sure you will enjoy it.

A bit of advice for anyone staying at the International - The supermarket in the town is called "Casino", which is very good - but pricey. There is a "Leader Price" supermarket a few minutes drive further heading back out Maisson laffite, which is a lot cheaper and certainly can make a difference on your budget.

:)
