parking on the road

right so ive just brought a caravan to live in permantly ive put allot of thought in to it recently and the only thing im getting stuck on is parking it on the road, i also have pleanty of space to park it off the road but soon will arrive the planning police which does seem crazy that i have a convienient place to park it where it wont bother any one no houses overlooking or anything just road exposure and im not allowed to park there, so can i just park it up on the road while living in it i have about 6 different offroad locations but none of them particularly hidden so if they pick up on it quick i only get 28 days at a time each year, so can i park it up hitched on to a tow vehicle and live in it all the tanks are internal so the only thing that will be on the ground outside is the feet ill probably move it regularly enough anyway when i go away in it, all i can find on the subject is that i need to have the running lights on externally at night which is fine and if it gets complained about then i get a notice for 14 days to move or is that all i need to know

You seem to be selling a lot of engines and other things on ebay. How will you manage for a 'permanent' address and storage for the things you sell if you are living in a caravan parked on the road?

well my business address wont be changing as i will be keeping that site and i have a friend who can deal with my personal post eg bank, hmrc, phone bill and anyone else who requires me to have a fixed home address

Some people try it on the trading estate about four miles from where I live. It seems motor vans get away with it whilst caravans quickly move on. Two motor vans have been there all through the winter.

We had a live-in van on a road near us. It was there for about a month before he got told to move. The subsequent stopping off spot was then in the local station car park but that only lasted a few days. Guess you've just got to suck it and see as different areas will react differently.

I hope your postal chum isn't a single occupant as they will have to pay full council tax if you're using the address, postal or not.
