parks in Wales

Hi, Any one got names of touring parks in Wales near beaches, and is good for kids also any web addresses. Thanks...

If you are a member of the caravan club have a look at pembrey country park, llanelli. The site is in a country park, you have walk through the park to the beach, lots of cycling and ski slope as well as play area.

This site has been discussed a few times on the forum.

Hi Robert,

I can thoroughly recommend Pembrey nr. Llanelli and also Freshwater East in Pembroke. Both are lovely sites with excellent shower facilities etc. With regard to kids, Freshwater maybe doesn't have as much for them to do as Pembrey, although we hardly saw our little one as there were loads of other children on site. We have just spent the bank holiday weekend at Freshwater and really enjoyed ourselves. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away and is kept very clean. We found both sites on the caravan club website.

Brynich Caravan Park in the Brecon Beacons is excellent, beautifully kept and stunning location.

not much around though for kids. perfect for that quiet break.

We went to Beddgelert, nr Snowdonia for Easter, the Forestry Commission site. There are a few beaches approx 5/6 miles away, Porthmadog & Black Rock Sands so you have the best of both worlds, nice country forest walks & beaches. It was great. Just Google it & you'll get the web address.

What part of Wales do you want to visit ,if you want South Wales you could try Tenby or Saundersfoot excellent beaches and plenty of places to explore,I live near Pembrey Country Park and there is a C.C.site just outside the entrance, in Mid-Wales you could try Aberaeron or New Quay,or if you prefer North Wales Black Rock Sands near Porthmadog or Rhyl. It depends how far you want to travel and your preferred area to visit if it is your first time to Wales you should definately try Tenby or Saundersfoot which have numerous good sites but get very busy during the high season. If you decide which area I could recommend some sites as we have stayed in these areas on many occasions.

There's a cracking little site at Spring water lakes, at Harford just outside Lampeter.

The site is very well kept and there are several fishing lakes to choose from. You get free fishing for one person and two rods on the coarse lake all day for every night booked.

The toilets are basic but the cleanliness is first class.

Being a few miles in land it is quite central to most of mid wales with aAberaeron being only 20 mins by car. A good chippy is found there right by the harbour. Newquay is lovely for a day on the beach with the kids, but parking is only at the top of town and it's a steep hill to walk after a day on the beach. If you want closer parking you need to be there by 8-30am.
