Phew! I wasn't expecting that.

Woke up around 1:30 this morning with really bad continuous chest pains, ambulance was called and I was taken to hospital.

After the ecg's, blood sample and xray etc.I was given morphine intravenously, then followed numerous tests, a couple of more bloods and regular blood pressure tests and was also given a little oxygen boost, lost count of how many people came to diagnose and keep check on me.

Just after midday I am given more painkillers (orally this time) and I have a good response that leaves me able to breathe with only a little pain, diagnosis is not exact, but suspected lung or chest muscle(s) infection.

Anyhows, I am now at home with a few extra parcels to be opening tomorrow (anti-biotics, anti-inflamatory and painkillers), didn't think I would side-step the grim reaper so easily 😗

From the initial paramedics and all of the various hospital staff I received excellent care and attention, great people in a great profession.

I'm feeling very happy and relieved to be at home tonight, have a safe festive season folks.

So sorry to hear that you have been taken poorly, and especially at this time of year.
All best wishes for a speedy return to good health.
Take it easy and get well soon.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Sir Haggis!

I once did a driving assessment for an octogenarian who told me that he’d just run up Snowdon for the last time (I’ve never walked up, let alone run!!) as he’d turned 80. He was amazing, but put it down to keeping moving. He said “I work on the premise that they don’t very often hit moving targets, so I’m going to make it as difficult for the Grim Reaper as possible by keeping moving!”

I hope you can have a wee dram (or two) for medicinal purposes of course!

Nigel.

You men will do anything to get out of washing up, glad to hear its not what you would have thought it was, it will take a while to be rid of the pain but I'm sure with rest and the meds you will improve daily, people don't realise how bad real muscle pain can be, a little trip in van will soon have you up and about, happy Christmas LOL

Visited the doctor today and my hospital tests determined pleurisy.

And today I started to feel a little better 🙂 , guess the antibiotics are taking effect.

Thanks to all for your kind wishes.

Cheers,
John
