Have seen an advert for a company that repairs surfaces. They list worktops, car bumpers etc. Anyone any experience with a company like this and surface cracks on abs panel?

Plastic Surgeon seem to get good reviews. Mine developed surface cracks where the rear panel joined to the roof. I thought my dealer might repair under warranty using a specialist in plastic welding and stapling. But their experience was that it tends to transfer stress to another point. Swift replaced the whole rear panel. The repairs seem to be suitable for specific areas or where it may have impact damage.

Most of these companies do a reasonable job on todays plastic car bumpers, I have seen quite a few done, but how much experience any of these companies have with caravans would make me a bit doubtful.

Plastic Surgeon have been repairing caravans and motorhome for some years and have been reviewed in magazines too. But like all things you have to trust in their professional judgement that a repair can be effective. There are others out there. At the Malvern show two years back I looked at exhibits from a number of companies who do insurance repairs after bad scrapes.

Had mine done couple of weeks ago, cannot see where they were, to the right people it is no problem. Mine was a Essex firm.

What was repaired? Any before and after pictures and price?

Was back ended by a car who did not put their handbrakes on when parked. Their bumper struck lower half of back causing several cracks , some 60cm long others about 10cm. At first I thought there were only one crack which looked deep but when taking it to the workshop for estimate he showed me several which were in the lower half.. I only took photo of the first crack which is hard to see on the photo. Have not took any photos of repair as you cannot see anything , even the colour is perfect for a year 2000 caravan. The price was £900+.
