plastic windows and club stickers causing cracks

Having just received our new pride and joy the memsab decided to give it a good clean. In doing so she removed a couple of round stickers from the front window. One was from a caravan dealer and the other was a 25th anniversary sticker from the Caravan Club. When I looked at the window I could see several minute stress cracks that had been hidden under the stickers. The cracks were the same size and shape of the stickers. This suggests a reaction between the window and the sticker. Has anyone seen this and wghat was the cause?

It is always stated that you shouldn't put stickers on the acrylic windows because different types of plastic react with one another, causing the cracks. The same goes for cling film - you should never put it on the windows to prevent scratching when using a caravan cover.

I thought it was possibly a reaction. I am guilty in the past of having put stickers on windows but had never noticed a problem. I now know different
I find it odd that a caravan dealr and a reknowned club should offer stickers that create damage.
