please dont think iam daft!! but what are municipals please?

hi all,

well youve probaley guessed, that iam new to caravanning and a new member and hence do not know what municipals in france are?

iam planning my first trip there in july and it may be helpful for me to know.

Hi rocco. They are campsites run by the local "council" They vary quite a lot in standards but are cheap. David

We have used Municipals a lot over the years mainly as one night sopovers but maybe I have been lucky in that I have never been to a bad one,which is more than can be said of some'commercial sites'.If you get the Caravan Club Europe(France)site book they are all listed in there.They usually have all the facilities are very reasonably priced(for example one we use near Le Mans is beatiful by the river in the town with excellent facilties for
