Hi, the mains polarity light has just started to come on when the mains lead
is connected also the water heater & fan master not working.
Any advice ?

From the symptoms you describe, I suspect the mains EHU cable should be checked, could be a loose wire. If you have any doubts, get it checked by a professional.
 
Frankly I can't see how disconnecting the battery would affect the mains polarity light. I still suggest you check for loose mains wiring connections especially in the EHU cable.

A poor battery connection causes a high resistance, which could cause the power unit to play up.
However I agree that a full check of mains circuit is required, including the pick up cable.
