The seasonal we are looking at it says awnings can be left erected from 1st day of season but in our case we might be looking at Fiamma caravanstore roll out awning that easier for me
They are easier, but any signs of wind, you would need to roll it up. Seen on a number of occasions where the canopy has flipped over the roof and in one case the poles pierced the roof. If you a seasonal why not simply have an awning up that you can leave up while away from the caravan? You are looking for a solution to a problem that does not yet exist.

Yes a awning would be the way to go, but this seasonal is a couple hours from home so with my mobility issues anything easier would suit our purpose and that my choice .

BB , what size of Fiamma did you have in mind?
I found this chart detailing size and weight. Some look pretty heavy to me .Do they come with sides or are they just a sun canopy?

The Fiamma CaravanStore is really simple and easy to install and to use. It takes just seconds to roll it out completely. The Fiamma CaravanStore offers excellent shelter from the sun.

The support legs fold up inside the roller tube, and are easy to pull out, fold down and install - with articulated joints and no loose parts to fall out or get lost.

Available in Royal Blue or Royal Grey.

I have never seen that restriction on any caravan policy we have had, but then I have never analysed the policy clause by clause. After all you are insuring the caravan and not the awning. The awning is an add on that increases the premium which means that you can leave it off the policy.
I have been through my CMC insurance term and condition, nothing about leaving the caravan with the awning unattended ?
