I think the owner would still have to demonstrate service records and replacement of cam belt ( if required) iaw with makers schedule. Hers is on its second engine but was purchased preowned. I’m advising her to have interim oil and filter changes plus take it to Peugeot dealer for measuring inspecting cam belt. Plus change cam belt if she’s unsure of it’s mileage.

My daughters car is a 2013 plate and just over 65k miles. Apart from a turbo problem last year it's been trouble free. In fixing the turbo she was advised to get the cam belt changed soon, which she did.

Proving that the cambelt design causes any problems would not be and easy task.

But only for those owners that can show the cars have been maintained fully iaw Stellantis service requirements. Our granddaughter has a 2014 208 with the 1.2 puretech engine and she’s doing 10000 miles per year. Worried of Wiltshire !

I believe Ford and PSA, now Stellantis, had a joint development for the wet-belt engines, hence the common problems.
