we have a nr porch awning it is great except for the sides against the van we have tried putting foam on the poles but after a while they twist round leaving a gap to let in wind and rain.

CAN ANYONE HELP
 
These type of awning are designed that way. the best way to minimise it is to peg the bottom underneath the van.

Some people I have met have used pipe lagging on the sides to help keep the gap closed
