Portable Air Con

Has anyone tried the Ecoflow Wave 3, or even wave 2, air conditioning units in a caravan? According to the specs, it can cool between 11m2-17m2 of space, so caravans would be within the range. It would be a bit of a faff to sort a window block for the vents, but that aside, wondering if they are any good?

Yes they are heavy, but it will be transported in a truck and not take up any payload when towing. I also have space for one on one of the worktops, so even that doesn't bother me. £700 seems to be a pretty decent deal compared to buying a full unit fitted to the caravan, plus being portable it can live in my bedroom during these silly heatwaves we get :)

I was out in the caravan this weekend, when the temperatures outside reached 28c or so, and thermometers in the caravan were reading 33c, that was with every window open, fan running and blinds closed on the sun facing side

Maximum power draw is 690w, providing (according to documentation) 6100btu cooling. It runs off battery also, and can use solar panels to directly run it as well as AC, so it’s not a portable air con unit like you’d get from Argos, it’s designed for camping and off grid use

It looks a compact device. The battery appears to be an additional purchase at about £600. The charger is also an extra purchase? If you buy the whole kit and caboodle then it is coming in at £1700. Although you may not have to do that; but if you do it is heading into roof mounted territory. So I guess the comparison is between that and the pros and cons of roof mounted?

I’ve already got a battery and solar charger, these are optional anyway as it can run straight from mains. My main query is if anyone has actual experience with one? Most YouTube reviews are sponsored by ecoflow, so are obviously going to show it as highly rated
