There is also quite a lot of other camping sit available then - including coolboxs, chairs, wind up LED torch and portaloo.

Worth a look.

12V/240V Satellite system is exactly the same as Maplins one and is really good - I have one.

The Maplins portable kit is great and works very well.

However, here's a curious thing. I am up in Cumbria and can select BB1 (South East) easily. However, if I select BBC1 (North West)the picture is full of squares and is impossible to watch. Why would this be? all the other channels come through crystal clear?

Does this mean that we have a range of frequencies and that I need to fine tune my dish ?

Thanks

John

Hello Kevin H, we used our LIDL one last year in south Brittany and we also used the Sky box and that worked as well , but for some reason when we tried it again with the Skybox it came up with the message "wrong card".Now this is possible because we changed the Sky box and had the Sky plus installed at home and still used the old card. We are going to use the old Sky box again just to see whether it will work ,otherwise use the good old Lidl as apart from c4/5 i find it as good.

If you've got sky at home, can you take your sky box and get all the channels you get at home using the portable sat receiver?

Thanks

Lisa

Can't see why you would want to use 2 receivers if I understand the question

You can use the Sky box from home with a portable satellite dish and I see no reason why the dish you have should not work.

Hope that helps

Sorry Watson what I meant was at home we get hundreds of channels, do you get that amount (English channels) picking up the astra satellite?

If you use the Sky box with its matched card you get exactly the same as you get at home anywhere in Europe that you can get the signal.

Clever isn't it !!
